Alistair Brown is an experienced independent social worker. He has 20 years experience in Mental Health in therapeutic, statutory intervention and management in Scotland and internationally. Alistair offers both bespoke and NHS Scotland certified training as well as individual, group supervision and direct client work. Alistair has worked in specialist positions with the NHS, local authorities and 3rd sector organisations. This has included residential, CAMHS, forensic, adult and older person’s mental health settings. Having recently completed 4 years with The British Association of Social Workers (BASW) incorporating serving as Convenor of Scotland Committee and on the UK board of Directors, he now practices part time as a Mental Health Officer (MHO) in Emergency Care for a local authority. Alistair has completed postgraduate training in Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS), Mental Health Advanced Practice and Law (MHO) and Cognitive Analytical Therapy. This is in addition to a Diploma in Social Work and an undergraduate degree in human and professional communication studies.
Alistair is registered with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and is a member of BASW providing clients with the reassurance of both professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
